Sharon Olds wint met haar bundel Stag’s Leap de T.S. Eliot poetry prize 2012 voor beste dichtbundel gepubliceerd in Groot-Brittanie en Ierland. Volgens jurylid Carol Ann Duffy: ’this was the book of her career. There is a grace and chivalry in her grief that marks her out as being a world-class poet.’ Stag’s Leap beschrijft het einde van een huwelijk ‘and the slow, painful, incremental creep of recovery (…)’.
